Ta Ann Tasmania is a timber processing business that operates two rotary veneer mills in regional

Tasmania, in the Huon Valley and at Smithton. These mills process regrowth timber, which was once classified as pulpwood and exported as woodchips, into value-added veneers. Our product is Chain of Custody certified to the AFS/PEFC standard.

We are a processing business that uses regrowth timber, which was once classified as pulpwood and exported as woodchips, to manufacture value-added veneers. These veneers may be used for a variety of structural purposes.

Our business has grown from capital expenditure of $78.9 million to construct two rotary peel veneer mills. We constructed our Huon mill in 2007 and our Smithton mill in 2008.

The mills use world's best machinery and are capable of peeling and drying eucalypt timber from regrowth and suitable plantations. We support the Tasmanian Forests Agreement, including the transition to the supply of plantation peeler billets where viable.

Our product is Chain of Custody verified to the AFS/PEFC standard.

Eucalypt veneer is produced and sold domestically and internationally and is mainly used to make high value flooring and other structural plywood products. Shipments occur from Hobart and Burnie ports about every four weeks.

We have implemented the Tasmanian and Australian Governments' objectives to achieve value adding from native forest timber.

We were the Tasmanian and Australian Emerging Exporter of the Year in 2008.

In 2014, Ta Ann Tasmania intends to construct a plywood mill adjacent to its Smithton veneer mill. This new mill will produce structural form ply and other construction and architectural type plywood.
