These free WoodSolutions seminars will explore how modern mass timber systems are being used today in multi-residential, commercial and public building applications in Australia.
The highlight of each seminar will be Kerry and Lindsay Clare of Clare Designs discussing design and construction aspects of the new 'Library at the Dock' building. This CLT and glulam structure has been was constructed by Lendlease around the corner from the Forté Apartments in Victoria Harbour, Melbourne.
Industry experts will also speak on innovative use of LVL, cross-laminated timber buildings, floor systems for commercial and multi-residential buildings with excellent acoustic performance and modern timber connectors. Product and service suppliers will also be on hand to discuss the solutions they can provide.
All of these systems provide tangible and real prefabricated benefits including reduced site preparation; reduced onsite construction time and labour; easier handling; fewer WH&S issues and more cost effective construction. These timber-based systems also have the traditional benefits of timber: beauty, tactility, workability, lightweight and environmentally friendly.
These seminars are a must for all building and design professionals including architects, building designers, engineers, certifiers, builders, regulators, educators and students.
