Suspended Mountain Book House
Chinese studio Shulin Architectural Design has built a translucent public book house for residents of the Liangjiashan village, located in an ancient mountain forest in China’s Zhejiang province.
Founded in 2015, Yulin Architectural Studio is a young creative studio specializing in architectural design / landscape design / urban design / interior design / product design. Rural architecture design, rural renovation research, high-end residential design, creative space design, and creative product design are their main research directions.
“Yulin” has three meanings: one layer means to study the design in the mountains and forests, surrounded by mountains and trees. Another implication is the hope that the space they design will be closer to the landscape, respect the nature, and integrate into it. The last layer means that the word "尌林" is not necessarily a unique one, but the melding of smaller groups that can coexist.
