Emerging Trends in Timber Based Sustainability and Biophilic Design - Presented by Dr David Bylund.
Currently Director of TMBR Consult where he is overseeing the use of timber in the 50 storey, world leading C6 residential tower project in Perth. David is also a Lead Design Architect at ARKit. David has previously been a Project Development Manager for the WoodSolutions Midrise Program, the Team Lead for Wesbeam tall Timber Building Systems and a Research fellow at the Centre for Sustainable Architecture with Wood at the University of Tasmania.
Learning Outcomes
Attendees will gain an understanding of current trends in sustainable timber design, become familiar with a range of timber and hybrid timber structural systems, and appreciate the role expressed structural and non-structural timber elements have in good biophilic design and how to balance their use with the need to ensure fire and acoustic compliance.
