The third webinar of this AS1684 series will focus on the key requirements for Tie-downs and Connections in residential homes and will be delivered by Mr Tim Rossiter, MiTek’s General Manager Building Solutions Asia Pacific, and one of the industry’s most knowledgeable and experienced timber engineers.
Tim will provide a guide to correct Tie-Downs in accordance with AS1684, extending from load determination to selection of the appropriate connection fixed in the appropriate manner. Included will be some practical guidance on interpreting “engineer-speak” to assist visualisation when wind loading is an occasional load event.

Tim Rossiter, GM Building Solutions Asia Pacific, has previously been State Manager NSW & WA, and Chief Engineer, at MiTek Australia, is a civil engineer with 35 years timber truss and frame industry experience. Tim was a member of the Taskforce that originally created AS4440 Installation of nail plated timber trusses. He has been a lecturer for the Master Builders Association in NSW in Structures and Timber framing and is currently a Director of the Timber Development Association.
