Andy Russell, General Manager of Proctor Group

Andy has worked with the building envelope specialist company in the UK and in Japan, including a spell on secondment to a major prefabricated house manufacturer. In his suitcase on arrival in Australia in 2007, he carried some of the first vapour permeable ProctorWrap membranes seen in this part of the world. He was a contributor to the first edition of the ABCB Condensation Handbook, and is a regular presenter to industry associations and designers, on the topic of moisture. Andy is keen advocate for timber construction and is motivated, building by building, to improve the health and comfort of our built environment and positively impact the health of current and future generations of occupants.

Andrew Dunn, CEO of Timber Development Association

Andrew has 40 years of experience in the building industry, with the last 34 years within the timber sector and 24 years as CEO of the Timber Development Association (TDA). He is educated in Civil/Structural Engineering from the University of Sydney and has a Master of Timber Engineering from Central Queensland University. Andrew’s work within the timber industry has been at the market end of the timber industry’s supply, focusing on the needs of the construction sector and matching the capacity or ability of the timber industry to meet these needs. Technically based, he has represented the industry on numerous committees from
Australian Standard, Building Industry, Government and timber industry boards and panels. He has co-chaired two international timber industry networks on the promotion and promotion of fire-safe timber buildings. He has extensive fire and sound timber technology knowledge and has recently introduced cross-laminated
